It’s growin’ season!

It’s one of my favorite times of the year! I’m growing six autoflowers this summer. I chose them over photoperiods because they have a shorter growth cycle and you don’t need to worry about changing how much light the plants get if growing indoors, or waiting until September/October no matter when you popped the seed. I also love that I can grow more strains in less time with less added nutrients.

I’m using soil both indoors and outdoors. I’ve already seen a fungus gnat, but that’s a story for another day. Here’s a rundown of what I’m growing:

  • 2 Gorilla Cookies from Fast Buds
  • 1 Banana Purple Punch from Fast Buds (was supposed to be two. Welp.)
  • 1 HubbaBubbaHaze from Mephisto Genetics
  • 1 leftover seed from last year that’s either Hulkberry or Green Gelato from Royal Queen Seeds. I fumbled their packages and accidentally the seeds mixed together. It was some real clumsy slow motion tv show shit with me yelling “nooooooo.”

I’m considered putting one of the Gorilla Cookies outdoors since grow reports say it can handle a lot more than the average plant. There will most certainly be bugs trying to grab hold, as well as cooler nights with higher humidity as it transitions to morning. Fungi love it. Word to powdery mildew and bud rot.

I’m also thinking of putting both the HubbaBubbaHaze plants outdoors in rolling planters with attached trellises so they have more support as the bud grows. Word in the digital streets is that this strain has thin branches and will need support as it gets closer to harvest.

Both the Banana Purple Punch (BPP) and Royal Queen seed (RQS) will go indoors. For some silly reason, I only ordered two BPP seeds. I planned to put one plant outdoors and one inside, but one of the seeds didn’t sprout. The RQS is already in a 3-gallon fabric pot, while the rest are in solo cups.

Next update soon!
